Does anyone remember the art of conversation, that lovely pastime where questions were exchanged, mutual interest was shown, listening occured naturally, and silence was rich? Nowadays, the majority of people I meet seem only to talk—that is, monologue—about themselves. Maybe you’re one of these people. If so, I have a question for you: Must every encounter with another human being be a demonstration of our worth? Must we forever reduce ourselves to products intended for consumption?
Listen, darlings. Everything mirrors everything. With Saturn and Pluto locked in an exact sextile for the rest of the month, ego and power issues are going to be coming up everywhere whether you choose to acknowledge them or not. If you do choose to acknowledge them, you have planets there to help. Mercury and Venus are in Sagittarius, opposing Jupiter in Gemini, offering you some creative inspiration to think about and communicate your higher ideals, and what is ultimately true (i.e. you’re not reducible to a product!).
This configuration is nudging you to move beyond the boundaries of the personal self/ego into the transpersonal self with its greater wisdom. This will require questions, genuine interest, listening, and silence on your part.
On the other hand, if you choose not to acknowledge WTF is going on, your anxiety will simply increase, and you’ll probably be puking it up onto everyone around you. This will probably cause you to talk more about yourself out of nervousness, like a hungry ghost looking for endless external validation. Sounds fun, right?
This week’s challenge: get over yourself.
While your mind is on overdrive trying to make greater sense of all the raw data you’ve been gathering, now is a good time to pay close attention to your dreams at night. They just might hold the missing pieces to your master plan. Don’t be scared.
No matter how well your bank account is doing, that difficult relationship is not going to transform without some real vulnerability on your part. That means getting emotionally naked, not being “right.” Now, do it already.
Sometimes, Gemini, you’re a busy-ness addict. Focus on getting underneath your compulsive activity at work this week. Is there a larger purpose driving the activities you run between, or are you simply so wired you don’t know how to stop? Be honest.
With so many significant relationships being tested right now, you might feel the urge to escape into fantasy. Try to resist. That important relationship you’re in—the one with your own creative self—needs your commitment. Consider it your most important partnership.
Though, perhaps not easy or fun, the challenges you’ve been facing at home are necessary to realizing your long-term vision. As you take off on this new wave of creative exploration, let your friends inspire you and your home ground you.
With so much social stimulation right now, you have a lot to distract you. However, your prime task must be to continue building structures for your big creative ideas to live in. Don’t let the minutiae bog you down. This is about the big picture.
New opportunities to communicate with people near and far are everywhere. So, although Saturn is still challenging your personal sense of value, you now have an array of mirrors in which to see your capabilities and potential clearly reflected back to you. Look closely.
The intense internal restructuring you’re undergoing is not going to be made any easier by hiding. So, while I don’t suggest superficiality, I do encourage you to show more of yourself. Talk about what inspires you. If people don’t get it, that’s not your problem.
As a variety of new prospects present themselves, the challenge right now is to stay focused on your deepest values as you decide what (and what not) to take on. Overextension won’t help. There’s only one of you. Pace yourself.
While undergoing any restructuring of identity, it’s important to remember that although necessary to survival, personality is still just a construct. Masks can be part of an evolutionary strategy, too. They just can’t be the evolutionary strategy. Let integrity lead.
You may carry the delusion that you’re somehow beyond the ego, but a socialized ego is an ego just the same. Saturn is still challenging your attachment to external power structures. And sometimes the ego is the biggest external power structure of all.
While it’s true that dreams, not reality, are what keep us motivated, we can’t have one without the other. This is a good time for you to be thinking and communicating about how to marry the two in your life. But, don’t stop there. Make a plan, and start doing it.
