This statue of Ganesh found in Prambanan, Indonesia was carved in the 9th century, around the time the number “0” was incorporated into the overall numerical system. The trunk of this particular Ganesh has remained smooth due to the arguably millions of pilgrims who have touched it in the hopes of gaining good fortune.
